OFFICE ENGINEER – CENTRAL VALLEY, CA

The Office Engineer will have experience in any combination of contract management, contract administration and construction compliance. This position will be responsible for maintaining project records, review project documentation, as well as assisting senior project staff in the administration of projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review daily submittals, RFIs, Contractor Invoices and quality/material acceptance documents 
  • Execute a wide variety of general administrative duties supporting the engineering team, including report and spreadsheet preparation 
  • Draft meeting agendas and record minutes 
  • Draft official correspondence 
  • Assist with preparing presentations 
  • Monitor and enforce labor and subcontracting regulations 
  • Draft construction change orders for review 
  • Assist with project close-out and acceptance 
  • Support project staff with management of disputes and potential claims 
  • Interpret and explain plans and contract terms, as necessary 
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned  

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Effective written, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work as part of a team involving staff, clients and outside agencies 
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) and AutoCAD  
  • Basic understanding of CPM/Construction Scheduling 
  • Experience with Prevailing Wage Laws and Regulations preferred 
  • Experience with subcontracting laws and policies preferred 
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including identifying data quality issues 
  • Strong organizational skills, including an ability to prioritize activities and work with limited supervision 
  • Detail minded 
  • Results oriented and able to complete tasks on deadline with little supervision 
  • Ability to make good decisions using sound, professional judgment 
  • 2 years of Construction Inspection or Construction Administration experience required 
  • B.S. in Civil Engineering or Construction Management 
  • E.I.T. preferred 
  • Caltrans experience preferred 
  • Valid California Driver’s License Required
