LONG ISLAND RAILROAD CONSTRUCTION INSPECTION, OVERSIGHT AND OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT

Our New York team provides construction inspection, design-build oversight and train operations management and scheduling for a design-build megaproject to add a third track to the existing Long Island Railroad (LIRR) main line. This 10-mile route currently serves more than 250 trains on a typical weekday, and is critical to support the mobility of many New Yorkers. Adding a third track will make all-day, two-directional service on the main line a reality for the first time in modern LIRR history.

As a subconsultant to the Arup-Jacobs joint venture, our team provides daily construction oversight as the contractor begins construction of the third track’s first phase, including clearing along the railroad’s right-of-way, redirecting gas, water and sewer lines, and installing new conduit for future redirected fiberoptic lines.
